OUTDOOR SUMMER PROGRAM

Registration for returning families for Summer 2024 will open at 11:30 am on Wednesday, January 17th.

Registration for new families will open at 11:30am on Wednesday, January 24th.

Our Outdoor Summer Program gives children ages 4-11 a comprehensive exposure to outdoor fun and learning on a working farm in the city. We focus our education efforts on gardening, composting, bird and plant identification, exploring, farm animals and outdoor games in the natural environment of our farm.

The curriculum is guided by a seasoned staff of educators and outdoor enthusiasts using the full range of natural amenities found at Allandale Farm. Our kid-driven programming has kids learning, creating and growing in age-level groups in the beautiful natural environment of the farm. Your child will have new experiences to share every day.

2024 Update for Campers Ages 11-13:

Dear Parents/Guardians/Caregivers,

Allandale Farm OSP (Outdoor Summer Program) is excited to announce a big change. This summer, in place of our oldest camper group and the CIT program, we will be offering an Outdoor Leadership Program with a focus on conscious citizenship for our oldest campers, ages 11-13. Many studies indicate that young people are still struggling with the effects of being isolated during the Covid pandemic and would benefit from more opportunities to develop the essential social-emotional and leadership skills to feel confident and resilient. As a full-time educator myself, I have witnessed this firsthand. To meet this need and to provide an age-appropriate summer experience for middle school-aged children, we have created our new OLP. By instilling positive habits during the middle school years, young people can build a strong foundation for success and well-being in the years to come. This innovative program aims to instill leadership skills, foster teamwork, and provide a unique farm experience for young minds. The Outdoor Leadership Program will stay true to the core of Allandale’s summer programming, offering opportunity for joy and friendship amidst a beautiful, natural setting.

A day in the Leadership Program will consist of morning team building & leadership activities and an afternoon of applied learning, working with OSP’s younger campers.

We invite interested campers ages 11-13 to apply to the Outdoor Leadership Program; the application lives within the same website as the general camp enrollment portal. OLP applicants can apply to ONE two-week session.

Upon receipt of your application, Michelle will notify applicants to set up a short online interview as an initial step into their leadership development.
