Spring 2026 Community letter

Hello Friends and Neighbors,

Happy Spring! As the weather warms up and construction of our new store and greenhouse gets underway, we’d like to share some details about this year on the Farm. Our little farmstand continues to be open on Wednesdays from 1pm-6pm. Wednesday and Friday are also Jordan Brothers Fish Truck days, 2-6pm!  As we move into the busy harvest season, we will keep the farmstand open as long as we can, though construction will be a limiting factor. The very best and most sure way to have regular access in 2026 to our sustainably grown produce is to join our CSA. In addition to a bountiful selection of produce, you’ll be supporting your local farm during this transitional year, which is tremendously helpful to us. CSA half shares, full shares and egg shares are all currently available on our website. Please consider joining us this year!

Want to learn even more about the CSA, 2026 and beyond, all while spending some quality time on the farm? Join us Saturday, April 18th from 10am-12pm on the terrace up at the Harvest Barn. Farmer Mike and I will be there to answer all your questions. This gathering is open to all CSA members, current and prospective, and really anyone who wants to swing by! We look forward to sharing a cup of coffee and some baked goods with you around the fire.

You may have noticed…the Garden Center is open for the season! Our beautiful glass production greenhouse down by the pond is hosting the Garden Center this spring. Just park out front and walk the road back toward the pond. We have ADA accessible spots at the Greenhouse and also some convenience spots for larger pick-ups for your use AFTER you make your purchases. Just follow the signs. Thanks for helping us navigate the construction.

It’s a very exciting time on the farm with lots of changes! We will keep you updated through email, social media (links below) and our website. And of course, through our favorite mode: in conversation with you here on the farm.

Finally, our heartfelt thank you to all of us who joined in community to celebrate the life of our beloved Highland steer, Curtis. What a beautiful gathering!

Thanks for being with us as we work to ensure our farming future!

Your farm in the city

At Allandale Farm, we are grounded in our commitment to the land, our community and our unique history. We are proud to connect Boston to its agricultural roots by sustainably growing plants and produce from seed to store. Our path forward is informed by the path we have travelled as we strive to maintain sustainable agricultural and business practices, to invest in our employees and to honor our heritage. By serving our community with events that entertain and educate and by inspiring our youth to be the next generation of stewards, we are your farm in the city.

SUMMER PROGRAM

Outdoor Fun for Ages 4-12

Our Outdoor Summer Program gives children ages 4-12 a comprehensive exposure to outdoor fun and learning on a working farm. We focus our education efforts on gardening, composting, bird and plant identification, walking, farm animals and outdoor games in the natural environment of our farm. Fun and engaging, we offer both regular and extended day programs.
